Blog Status Update

Hey guys. I haven't posted in a while and that's for a lot of reasons. One being that I'm in the middle of developing another blog! Crazy, I know. But it's been something sitting at the back of my mind for a while now and there's no better time to pursue your creative ideas than the present.

So as of right now, I'm not sure about the state of Born in the Know. I was planning on further developing my self-named blog Sierra Stridiron, for now, as a more personal blog where I could talk about a variety of topics and the general happenings of my life. Kind of like an online journal. I want to develop my voice more as a writer and possibly have something in the works for a future in publishing, who knows! I plan on pursuing Born in the Know as my brand with a more direct focus: fashion. After a while, it became strenuous trying to push down all of my ideas about recipes, DIYs that have nothing to do with fashion or lifestyle, and general advice/commentary on the going-ons in media and my personal life. My new blog is going to be my way of doing everything all at once without much structure going into it while developing a format and voice along the way.

I've always been the type of person that wants to do it all and have it all, even if I don't have the means to do so at the moment. And that's what I plan on doing. I mean literally, I don't have a camera (any of the "quality" pictures I take are with a video camera someone got tired of and gave away to me), I don't have a cellphone capable of doing much more than loading, buffering, and wasting my damn time (seriously, does anyone even know what an LG G2 is??), and my ancient Dell laptop I got years ago finally kicked the bucket and decided to go out as a diva bleeding the ink from it's screen everywhere. Adding all of that with the facts that I don't have a job, the area I live in thinks pedestrians like me don't need sidewalks or reasonable walking distances to get from place to place, and school is absorbing whatever money my parents were willing to slide in this direction, it's safe to say I don't have most of the tools necessary to be successful at this whole blogging thing. But those are just material things. Albeit important, and some might say "necessary", material things, but material nonetheless.

Look, I've been known to outsmart the "inevitable failure" people too easily place on me. I'll figure out a way to manage two blogs with no money, job, car, and the daunting future intimidating me with every step I take - and I'm going to do it in style.

Now, the next task on the agenda is figuring out whether I've said all of this because I believe it or because I'm trying to convince myself that I do. Either way, be sure to check out my new self-titled blog Sierra Stridiron and keep checking in on this one every week for new posts. When I've finalized a schedule for how posting is going to work with this blog, I'll be sure to keep you guys updated.
